whats a good anti-spyware program to go with avast, and a good firewall?

The Windows firewall works fine here.

Regarding anti-spyware, a single anti-spyware product--even the best
one--is *not* good enough. Note what Eric Howes, who has done
extensive testing on Anti-Spyware products, states:

"No single anti-spyware scanner removes everything. Even the
best-performing anti-spyware scanner in these tests missed fully one
quarter of the "critical" files and Registry entries" See

Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware
Spyware Blaster
Windows Defender.

You are not going to find anything better than the Vista FW and Vista in
itself due to the advanced features the FW and Vista are using.
