I have to say, what a total wank. I have been keeping pace for well over 13
years with this version and that. But this is the final straw. I am sticking
with XP and going back to Office 2000 for as long as I can.

Why? Maybe there are issues we can help you with.

Remember support for Windows XP SP1 ends at the end of October, Office 2000
mainstream support ended in July of 2004 and is now only in extended
support.

There are quite a few knowledgable people in this newsgroup.

I've actually removed XP from my system (I'm typing this from Vista) as well
as made the move to Office 2007 Beta2 Refresh, and I have had very very few
problems. All my hardware is supported with the exception of my blackberry
and fingerprint reader, all my software (including games) work fine.

I like Vista and Office 2007, but when I ran the Office 2007 Tech Refresh, I
lost the abiltiy to use my mouse on some commands in the File Menu in the
Office Applications.
I can't Open a file or Save it or Save As. I have an HP Pavilion d4100e with
an Athlon 64 X2 and an HP Wireless mouse and keyboard. The keyboard shortcuts
do not work either (Alt-O or Alt-S or Alt-A)

Bob,

I would HIGHLY recommend you flag this as a bug. I did the same exact
approach you did. Office 2007 on top of Vista then I did the Tech Refresh on
top of it. (the tech refresh for Office 2007 should have been rather close
to 500MB. If it was less than that (by a margin) you MAY have downloaded
only the partial Tech Refresh.

I'm assuming your mouse and keyboard work fine within Vista?

Are you running the 64 bit version of Vista by chance? I've seen some
problems with wireless devices under 64 bit Windows (most DO have 64 bit
drivers, you just gotta find them *grin*)

Hang in there Bob, I really didn't to anything special on my system and
Vista and Office 2007 TR run gang-busters. It works so well I got rid of my
XP drive totally.

Bill,

Thanks. I'll check the download of Office 2007 Tech Refresh first, if it
looks like it's all there I'll submit a bug.
