I run outlook 2003. Until about a week ago, when I went from say mail to the
contacts page, I could start typing immediately to find a contact. now I
have to dragthe mouse to hightlight (in blue) one of hte records before I can
type a name to find. Is there a way to get it back to how it was?

Stop using "Outlook Today" as the view for your root folder in the PST file.

I don't get your answer. Outlook Today is my default page and I have no
problem to start typing a name in say a new message and pop-up windows
offers me bunch of names.
Same as if Calendar was in view.
Am I misundestanding this topic?
