Going back _without_ using the mouse

Can anyone tell me how I can go back to a previous web page _without_ using
the mouse?

I have a rechargeable mouse and, from time to time, it has to go into the
charger for an hour or so. During those times, I need to be able to use
various programs without the mouse.

I have not been able to figure out how to go back to a previous page without
the mouse. I can't figure out how to get onto the toolbar that has the back
button with just my keyboard.

I also can't find the information in the Help because I can't figure out how
to tab from the index pane of the Help to the pane that actually contains
the information. I found a help page for accessibility via the keyboard on
that pane but I can't get to the pane so that I can click the plus key to
expand the topic and see what the technique is!

As you have probably guessed, my mouse in the charger right now :-(

Don't get me wrong, I really like the cordless rechargeable mouse but my
productivity really goes down when it is on the charger because I'm not that
fluent with the keyboard moves that I need to use when the mouse is
unavailable.....

I'm running XP Pro (SP2).

Thanks anyway.

Now that the mouse is recharged, I was able to use it to find out that the
key combination for going back to the previous web page is ALT+LeftArrow.

Ironic isn't it? The only way to find out what keystrokes duplicate the
mouse clicks is to USE the mouse to access the relevant Help....

Hi Rhino,

Most programs including IE use the F1 key to display the help file with the
keyboard shortcuts. Its bad design if you cant use a program without a
mouse. I recently changed from a wifi mouse to an older one that does not
need batteries. Had no problems since and no batteries to recharge or polute
the environment.

Regards.
