The Goal Seek Function is not in my tools menu or on a button on any
tool bar. I did a full reinstall of MS Office and it is still not
listed anywhere. I searched all of the tool bars and it isn't in any
of those. If anybody has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!!! I
use goal seek every day, and this is a computer that is new to me...

Thanks!!

From the menu:
Tools > Customize : Options, then ensure that "Always show full menus" is
checked.

Good point Andy.

Mine are already set to "show all" and I forget any other condition exists.

I appreciate both responses!!

I did as you suggested, and it is still gone. I reset the tool bar, checked the always show full menus. I also went through the entire list of commands available in the "commands" section in the customize toolbars menu, and it is just not listed any where.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks Again!!

Hi bobp!

The only way that I can replicate your missing Goal Seek is to:

Tools > Customize
Click on Tools Menu
Select Goal Seek and drag it to a Toolbar or another menu.

That would account for it not reappearing on a reinstall because the
reinstall would preserve your Toolbar settings in the Excel.xlb file

But if I grab the Goal Seek and drop it in the wide blue yonder it
disappears from the toolbar

So maybe you should go through all the toolbars, and see if Goal Seek
is hidden there.

If you can't find it then

Alt + F11
View > Immediate Window (if not shown)
Type the following in the Immediate Window
commandbars(1).reset
Press enter

But you will then reset the customization of these menus.

Most special customizations of your menus will be returned by closing
Excel and re-booting as that will reset the changes made by any
Addins.

Hi Bob!

Thanks for thanks is always welcome and confirms for Google searchers
that something works.

This was a bit of a mystery to me as I wasn't aware until I tried to
replicate your problem that you could ditch stuff off those menus. Pit
that there doesn't appear to be a better way to get them back :(
