Gmail with Outlook 2000 sp3

I'm trying to configure gmail with outlook 2000 with sp3. I've had to
uninstall and reinstall when I tried the first time because after
doing both the manual and automatic configuration gmail said it was ok
but it did not work and i proceeded to get multiple error messages and
had to reinstall. Any ideas?
