Word Globally Changing Specific Color Highlight to Background Color

I'm wondering if there is any way to change Word documents (2013) that come to me with green, yellow and blue highlight colors into lighter green, yellow and blue background colors. I can't find anything that differentiates between highlight colors in search and replace, and I can't find anything at all that allows a replacement with background colors.
