Global catalog & DNS

I have windows 2000 domain with only one DC. Since last month my users cannot
connect to the domain. They get error message that no net logon server is
available. I restarted DC and now it takes15 to 20 minutes to restart mainly
on network connection screen. I am getting error that no global catelog
server is available and this server cannot become DC. File replicaton service
give error that it can share sysvol. I checked with net share command and
cannot see sysvol folder. I checked DNS and dont see any problem with it. I
have reapplied 04-11 security patch but still no joy. DCdiag and netdiag give
global catelog related errors.

Any help would be appreciated.

How are the NICs set up as regards DNS? Are the clients set
to use the DC as DNS server?

All the clients get IP address from the DHCP server that is the same as DNS
server and DC. My DC is installed with DNS, DHCP etc.

any events logged in the event log?...
Post the specific error messages
