Global Catalog deleted

The PDC was accidentally deleted from the network. There
was another DC in the network but the one which was
deleted was the Global catalog server as well as the
Operations master.
Users could no longer be authenticated on the network
because vserver2 was looking for the global catalog server.
I tried to reinstall the old PDC (which defines the
forest) but still there is no link between the new AD and
the old AD. Since there was no backup I am STUCk

Please assist
 
Hi,

Since you have only one domain, the global catalog is somewhat irrelevant.
To make the other server a GC, open AD Sites & Services, navigate to the
operational server, open the properties of the NTDS Settings, and tick off
Global Catalog.

You're going to need to seize the PDC Emulator role and any other FSMOs the
other DC had. You'll also need to cleanup the orphaned DC in AD. Here's the
