Glass background during Ajax call.

Not sure if this is the correct news group but I had to start somewhere. On
some sites I visit I noticed during a apparent Ajax request the entire page
background changes (glass look) and an image appears obviously indicating
sometype of Ajax processing is taking place. A site that does this is
Netflix after you select a movie for your queue. Is there any site or any
other documenation that provides the basic steps in setting up this change
in display. I would like to do something similiar during my application's
Ajax request providing our users a clear indication their request (hit a
button) is processing. I don't need images, etc. just what is taking place
with CSS and html tags to create the display.

Thanks.
