Giving Up!

You have all been great!, but I'm tearing my hair out and I can't figure out
how to fix the problems I'm having. I don't understand coding; I'm way too
new at this.

The print preview looks great. I print it and the page is miniaturized. I
have to place my title on the left side of the page or it gets chopped off.

I tweaked another site I'm working on, too, and was able to get it to print
right, but not this one. r-r-r-r-r I can't place a small graphic (jpg)
along side the title either. That throws everything off.

In "too new to know language" can anyone help me out?

Many blessings on you and yours!

hard to help you without seeing what you are talking about...post the URL to
the website/page you are having problems with.

big hint: web design is not the same as print

It may be a printer setting causing the page to shrink - some printers
like to fit the page on the paper and shrink to fit. You have posted
the code for the page in another thread - it is always best to stick
with one thread, then people can see what has been said before - and
please don't change the subject line since some newsreaders (mine, for
example) assume a subject change is a new thread.

Pages that are meant to be printed are best made in PDF format, not html
or asp. PDF doesn't have to cost a lot. Itt can even be free. See:

Not what I'd recommend. If your page is set up properly it will print
correctly. Use CSS files with a different one defined for printing.
That way the page will print without items such as menus. You can see
this in my web site.

A puzzling response to Rob's friendly and accurate advice, Charlee.

Can you clarify for us - are you actually looking for help, or "giving up"?
If you're looking for help, study of web page design, HTML and CSS is
definitely the next step, since what you've posted makes it clear that
you're operating under assumptions that will only cause you problems (such
as the idea that even a fairly well-constructed web page will automatically
print well, without giving special consideration to print).

If you'd like recommendations for books or free tutorials, let us know. If
you'd like advice on a page you're working on, please post a URL and your
specific questions.
