Given up on IE

Did you get any errors when it crashed at all? IE7 crashes sometimes for me on Vista - not very often though :thumb:

Can't go far wrong with FF3 though :)

edit: I spoke too soon - IE7 crashed just 2 mins after I posted this  Typical!

Sadly there are problems with all browsers, but IE does seem to get more than others...or is that because its used by more people?

I've don't seem to get half the problems others do with IE6 or 7 - maybe there are other Windows issues contributing?

I think the best thing about other browsers is that you can re-install easily when things go wrong :thumb:

I installed Vista in January 2008 and the only browser I use on this computer is IE7.

It has never crashed on me so far.

I'm not really defending IE7, I'm aware of it's drawbacks and vulnerablities but I just like using it, it's that simple.

I really wished I like Firefox, but I don't

May i ask Flops, what is it you dont dig with FF?

You could always use an IE style theme if it helps.

Tweak it til you do. :D

Can't really remember now, but I used it exclusively for four days about a year ago, determined to like it - but I didn't like it.

Dunno, just didn't feel comfortable with it.

There's also a certain orneriness about me, where I prefer to fly in the face of common sense, defy all you sensible aware computer users and use a Microsoft program just for the hell of it ;)

Sorry I can't be specific, but I tried, I really did.

I guess I've used IE for so long it just feels comfortable to me.

Remember, I had six years of dialup with AOL 96 - 02 and I used IE as my browser with AOL as well.

Ya don't say.

Quite so, quite so.

Which, really, is the point I've been trying to make throughout, despite the raised eyebrows from yourself and Abarbarian ;)

Sensible? Nah, spose not :D

I sometimes think I do detect a slight smugness from FF users though.... ;)

No raised 'brows here, sorry if that impression was given. :)

... in sympathy.

Oh, and I ain't had no problem with IE7 either. IE7 was never really "designed" with XP in mind, it was an afterthought, but they changed the name from IE7+ ... to save confusion. ;)

Maybe one day ... the next Windows OS maybe?

I gave up on IE when Firefox came out, simply because of the tabbed browsing. That made so much more sense to me than having 15 IE windows open all the time.

Firefox has been a lot more stable for me, at least until FF3. Now it won't terminate properly when I run it in Vista, I have to end the service.
