I'm tired of reading half screens of documents and paging down. I
want a folding dual monitor LCD screen that will allow me to read a
book with one page on the left side, and the following page on the
right, like a book. Maybe then I'll read the manuals on how these
programs work.

So quit complaining about monopoly and give us a new product BILL,
Please!

So quit complaining and build it, you sound like you know what you are

You know exactly what you want. Build it.

:)

See how easy that was.

I often get a chuckle reading comments here. You already can do what
you want and could have for years. Has nothing to do with the OS.
Get yourself a BIGGER wide screen monitor and set it to higher
resolution. Surprise, I can view 2 side by side full page 8.5 x 11
pages on screen at once no scrolling.

You do know how to make any windows full screen don't ya?

As another option you can if you install 2 graphic cards or get one
that supports dual monitors do the same thing.

Also many graphic cards support a expanded desktop that can be setup
to either span multiple monitors, or for you to just pan sideways.

Lastly, while they didn't catch on, View Sonic for one used to make,
maybe they still do, monitors in smallers sizes, like 17 inch that
swivel 90 degrees which at least gives your one full page of text on
screen for reading like a book.

What...the...hell...was...that???

I can already do that. Always have been able to as well.

The get a monitor that supports it. I can do it with my 21" samsung
monitor on my XP machine. Turn the screen 90 degrees (verticle) and the
monitor automagically corrects the orientation and perfecto! I have
1600 vertical by 1200 horizontal resolution. XP can do it, and I would
suspect that Vista has retained the ability from XP.

Hmmm, maybe what I really meant to say was to make standard the
ability to view document pages without having to have an aerobics
lesson with the mouse. I don't think I could live with turning my
monitor around all the time without some special mounting
apparatus.

Maybe I'm being greedy. How about one page? Ok, I'll get a bigger
monitor. You really got me kicking and screaming on this one. 21
Inch LCD monitors, let see they are how much? Hey BILL, a piece of
paper is 8.5 by 11 inches!

Have fun, I love Micorosoft.

Actually, in case you didn't know, such monitors do have a built in
swivel system. Kind of cute, I used to use one years ago, but I too
got tired of messing with it. Prices on large LCD monitors have been
in free fall for quite awhile, they aren't that expensive anymore.

If you decide to get one, don't cut corners and cheap out for some no
name brand that only runs at lower resolutions. Your eyes will thank
you if you spend a few more bucks to get one with higher resolution.
The models that run at 1920x1200 are sweet, especially at 24 or 30
inch widths. Because they are LCD, also very thin. My Dell ultra sharp
is only about 4 inch deep not counting the base which tilts and turns
easily and has a high contrast ratio so very sharp.

The other nice thing is most newer LCD's are more than just a monitor
and usually have multiple inputs/outputs so you can switch back and
forth from using it as your computer monitor to play a movie off your
connected DVD or VCR and stuff like that. Most also support split
screen and picture in a picture modes, some even come with a cable
ready TV turner.

Sorry if I misunderstood your request. 21" monitors are not that pricey
if you know where to look. The one I have I bought 2 yrs ago shipped
for under $500.
