give security group right to update phone numbers in AD

How can I give a security group rights to update phone numbers in AD? I
thought I could assign the group write security to the schema objects but it
doesn't take.. and probley not the right way to do it anyway..

Use delegation wizard on specific OU and delegate control. here is an
