The utility called GINA DLL looks great but the providor build the layout
for me. I want to do it by myself. With 'replacement string' Google
display some other cool options.
[I have written production GINAs but long ago.]
The GINA source code is (somewhere) in one of the Microsoft
SDKs, either the Win32 DDK (driver kit) or somewhere else.
We found that (in '96) is was not totally complete (i.e., the source
code.)
It is generally NOT worth the trouble to rewrite, and more
importantly MAINTAIN, the GINA
Some enterprise pcs enables their customized Windows Logon, by replacing
the Win2000 Professional logon box with the company's logo.
For simply adding the Logo, most people would just change the
bitmap and keep the standard GINA, but for adding Google to
the Logon screen (or authenticating with multiple backends) then
you would need the replacement.
The GINA's I have written and helped write were for logon
and password synchonization with IBM Mainframes and Unix
accounts.
