When I first tried to do an "Upgrade install", Vista claimed the only problem
was the AC97 sound card. But then it failed with a message about a required
driver could not be found. Out of frustration, I did a clean install. All was
fine except the wireless adapter, the modem, and an unknown device. When I
plugged in my ethernet (wired), it found and installed a driver for the
wireless, but it did not work after a reboot. I tried installing the Windows
XP driver, but had no luck. The orange light that indicates the wireless
radio is functioning never comes on. I have tried switching the manual radio
switch, no luck. The device manager indicates that all is fine :-(
The notebook is a PowerPro CL-56 mobile pentium with 1 gb RAM, ATI video.
Other than the wireless, all is fine as I don't need the modem. I would like
some better touch-pad drivers though.
