A question re: gigabit LAN....
Is it worth considering purchasing a MB with this feature when I am hooked
up to a high speed cable ISP? It's about a 10$ difference in price between
a MB with and without this feature, but will there be any real benefit for a
home network (hardwired) consisting of only two PCs?

Also if anyone has comment on the ASUS A7v600 or the A7v600-x MB pls let me
know

A very good cable ISP can run about 3 Mbps, and the 10/100 LAN runs at
100 Mbps, not even coming close to saturating it. Yeah, you'll only see
a difference in home networking.

Also, it is very doubtful your cable modem even has a gigabit port, and
gigabit switches are much more expensive than regular ones.

If you shift a lot of large files between PC's on your home network, then
its definately worth it (bear in mind the other PC has to have a Gbit lan
card as well, to get those speeds).
It wont make a scrap of difference to your cable internet connection.

Your ISP coming in is WAN (Wide area network) your gigabit ethernet is
LAN(local area network) entirely different protocol. Therefore it has no
impact on your ISP. Unless you transfering a great deal of large file I
would not make any difference.
