gifs do not animate

I don't know whether this started before or after installing SP1. Is there
some setting that might have been installed with auto updates that I need to
reset or with Active X or some other security feature? I have eliminated all
other possibilities except with Win XP and IE. Thanks.

Why don't my animated gifs animate?

Take note of the mention of firewalls like @Guard as others like Zone
Alarm Pro and NIS may also have a disable option.

Hi, Alan!

The animated gifs on my personal website don't animate when I view them
online with IE 6.0 running under Windows XP Home

However, when I view the web pages via the "Preview in Browser" tab in MS
FrontPage 2003, the gifs animate perfectly.

Any suggestions?

PS: I'm running Norton Personal FireWall

Have you checked to see if Norton or another security program is blocking
animation, scripts, scripting, active content?
