I am unable to open my GIF pictures in Front Page 2002. It tells me that it
can't load file. If I change the ext. to JPG, then it opens. I don't
understand why GIF doesn't work. How do I go about fixing it so that I can
open the GIF pix.

Thank you for your help,

Vickie

Do you have a image application installed with a file association of GIF, so that the image can be
open. FP does not actually open the image, but passes it to image application that can.

Yes. Try this, export the GIF image to your desktop and the double click on it and see which image
application it load in.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I did a copy and paste to the desk top
and it opened in Microsoft Photo Editor.

Ok, then in FP, Tools | Options | Configure Editors add or change the GIF image to be opened by MS
Photo Editor.

You really should always work on your image outside of FP and then import them into your current
open web to used them.

If you can change the extension to .jpg and it opens, then the file is a .jpg saved with the wrong
extension.

Check your image editing software.
