Since reformatting my drive and reinstalling XP Home I have had numerous
troubles with graphics. Web pages I visit often don't show .gif files and
sometimes .jpg. Files that I originate in Photoshop are fine and I can post
them and view them on-line. The .gif files are most often ads but I would
like to see them. Sometimes on forums someone will brag on a .jpg that is
posted but Often I can't see them. sometimes I can. I will mention I can't
see their picture and 20 people will post they can see them fine. I would do
a Print Screen to show you but Alt PrtScreen - Ctrl prtScreen and plain
PrtScreen doesn't take. so I can't paste it in an e-mail. I bought a new
graphic card with no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks
Ron

May not help but I had a problem with png images not showing, I Googled
and found a fix where I had to re-register them, sorry I've forgotten
how, maybe you could try the same.

Thanks but no joy. I don't see a Red X it's just blank where the graphic is
supposed to be, same color as the background "often". Load picture
placeholder is checked.

Then some ad-blocker is in the way. It might be your browser (as
singapore suggested), but check also your firewall settings.

"No joy" doesn't tell us anything. What did you see when you tried
to make use of those comments and suggestions?

Remember, your words have to substitute for what our eyes might notice.

Note to IE7 lurkers: some of the suggestions on that page (specifically
the regsvr32 mshtml command) do not apply to IE7.

Your symptom sounds like a possible case of ad scraping.
If you don't want ads to be scraped turn off the features that you have
in place which are enabling it. Frank's page contains hints from Mike Burgess
which give more detailed tips for dealing with this possibility as well as links
to other MVP sites which have other examples.

If you need more help post a sample URL of a page where an image
is not being rendered and the URL of the image itself (e.g. as shown
in View Source) or at least a description of whatever it is that you think is
missing.
