As of late I noticed that our microsoft IE would not open up GIF. (I think??)
files when mozilla would open it fine. The site was a weather forecast site
with a typical satellite loop, and every time we try to visit we just get the
dreaded red x. Any info would help, I may just be overlooking something.
Thanks

Hi GratefulDawg :-)

You do not tell us the version of Windows you are using, so I can only make
a guess at a suggestion. Try the following and see if it helps:

Sorry for the early send..

Try the following and see if it helps:

IE will not display GIF images
See this site for possible help:

First - Do you have an accelerator supplied by your ISP? If so, try turning
it off.
It works by reducing image size (and therefore quality) for downloads.

Try clearing the IE cache. IE>Tools>Options>General>Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Uncheck "remove private headers" for all sites.
4. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

If still no joy.....

Are there any solutions to the IE6 missing GIF problem?

Is it just one site you are having problems with all IE can't open any
gif (images) file? If it can't open any images file then you might want
to check/reset the settings:

Tools, Internet options, advanced [tab]

click on Restore Defaults button.

OK

Close the browser and open again. Load the page to see if it solves the
problem.

Thank you for the information. I was having problems with showing animated
GIF images. By turning off my accelerator and clearing the cache the problem
went away.

I had tried the fixes any many of the other posts with no sucess. This one
worked .

Again, Thank you :)
