Dear Friends and Colleagues,

A specific GIF image, which animates in PowerPoint-XP
would stay still when the presentation is run using
PowerPoint-2003 (even running the very same .ppt file,
accessed over the network, will render the same result).
Other GIF's do animate as expected, and I could not find
what makes this one 'special'..
Any idea ?

Many thanks for your advice -
Ilan.

Animated GIFs have a loop characteristic that has to be set as part of the
GIF file in the application used to create the animated GIF.

Sonia Coleman, a PowerPoint MVP researched and found out that PowerPoint
2003 does not loop (animate) an animated GIF unless the loop option is
explicitly included within the GIF. PowerPoint 2002 has no such problems.

In short, you'll need to open your animated GIF in an animation editor
program and set the loop option.

Geetesh (& Sonia),

In a matter of minutes... I downloaded a shareware GIF
editor, as you siggested. I just had to open and re-
save... and it is indeed working beautifully.
Thanks (many)!
Ilan.
