Ghosts and servers.

I am sure that I am going to be shot down or something but I am bewildered
into a problem I have encountered with my server over the weekend.

The location is Melbourne, Australia.

The server was down over the weekend but no records show that the server
tripped.
The server is shielded for any EMR activities.
I have installed all the patches and updates including the anti-virus
software to ensure that the Blaster worm doesn't enter the system.
The fire wall is secures to the best of my ability with logs shows as normal
as possible.
The UPS loads were fine and once again the logs were normal.
The output lines outside the firewall were testing okay from checking it out
this morning

As far as I know the server should be working as normal as possible but I
could not log in remotely at all for the entire weekend.

Talking to my team members, I jokingly commented that there must be a
poltergeist that tripped the server when several people said that there was
a ghost in the office building.

Personally I do NOT believe in ghosts but keeping an open mind to all things
both physical and metaphysical, the stories by several people sort of
confirmed that there has be presence of metaphysical activity being that the
office building had been a nuns convent (you could imagine the stories)

Now that I have covered this briefly (and possible you guys have rolled on
the floor and laughing your asses off) can anyone please advise if any
metaphysical activities have tripped the server.

Genuine responses would be gratefully appreciated.

Kindest regards

Standard Internet ports and a couple for VLANS.

The firewall is reasonably strict in which ports are opened.

Kindest regards

ps: The power on the weekend was perfect as that UPS logs showed no
blackouts etc.

Hmmm - a ghost who can shut down a mail server and cause all kinds of havoc.

Seems we have a new MVP candidate here! <eg>
