Ghosting XP corporate edition

I have the 'real' edition of Windows XP corporate edition. I attempted to
ghost my XP install from a Western Digital 20 gig, to a 30 gig partition on
a Seagate 120 gig hard drive. On the exact same computer the 20 gig had been
on, I booted XP from the seagate drive, and got an activation error. Anyone
know why this happens? I've ghosted from one drive to another in the past,
but the hard drive manufacturer was the same. Did I get the activation error
because the hard drive manufacturers are different?

If you have the volume license edition you surely must have an IT department
to help you with this. Don't come here for help!

Ghosting one drive to another, you must disconnect the old drive beford you
reboot the computer and boot from the newer drive. If both drives on in the
system, you can get this type of problems.

If you had a standard XP (OEM or Full) which requires that you activate XP,
I would suggest you do a repair reinstall of XP on top of the installed
version of XP. Just make sure that the 120 GB drive is the only hard drive
in the system during the re-install.

There is no such thing as "Windows XP corporate edition".
However there is a Volume License version.
You should contact your IT department, they can assist you with all
Activation questions.
