when creating a ghost boot disk with USB support. Shouldn't the boot
disk when run, see an external USB HD? when creating the boot disk I
checked USB 1.1 support for external devices. But when I boot up using
the disk set it doesn't see the external WD HD I have. Any help would
be appreciated.

TIA,

Gary

I tried all that too...don't check any USB drivers...just made the boot disc
and POOF! it worked with my external HD. Go figure!

I tried your method but still no luck.

Thanks

Did your external HD come with a driver disc? What OS are you using...I use
WinXP Pro...but did not have to install the drivers that came with the
external case for the HD.

You are choosing Ghost Utilities/Standard Ghost Boot Disc/External Storage
Options and you have tried all three choices (no USB, 1.1 USB, and 2.0)?
You are using Ghost 2003? The HD is formatted?

I did get it to work with my newer machine which is an althon running
win2K. I have another machine which is a PII 333 w/win98 and ghost
does not see the formatted WD external USB HD. Anyway I'm using ghost
from System Works 2003. What I discovered on the Ghost website is that
it's hit or miss as to whether ghost will recognize your USB device
according to symantec. I did load the driver for Win 98 and windows
does recognize the drive.

Thanks
