Ghost: Virtual Partition DLL problems

I'll be indebted to whomever can answer this question:

On trying to create a backup from Symantec's Ghost 2003, the following
message was returned:
"A virtual partition DLL could not be located"

It was about to restart my PC, and instead did nothing after that
point.

Symantec are great when productes work, but seem to be squeezing the
market for $ instead of supporting their products. Pity they bought
out CP.

Thanks
Calum

That looks like its got a problem finding the virtual
partition it uses for the virtual floppy at image ops time.

Ghost does that particular op rather crudely and it may
well be just a problem with how the drive is partititioned,
preventing it from seeing the virtual partition at reboot time etc.

You dont say anything about the OS being used, or the drive etc.

It should work from floppys and it may well be possible to
reconfigure the drive AFTER you have imaged it for safety
using the floppys, so that the virtual boot will work properly.

You're still legally entitled to a product that is fit for purpose.

Have you actually asked Symantec about the problem ?
Pity they bought out CP.

Far from clear if we would have seen the enhancements seen
with 2003 if they hadnt. They're presumably funded by the cash
flow that resulted from turning Ghost into a mass market product.
