Hello!
I am in the process of taking two servers, one the primary
AD controller and the other an alternate controller...
running Windows 2000 Server SP4, and ghosting an image to
cd on each...

Am I able to restore the image from CD to a freshly
formatted disk and have the Primary and alternate AD
servers work? Same hardware... just ghost the image to cd,
format the hard drive, then restore with ghost. I thought
I read somewhere that it didn't work. But I can't find the
article anymore.

Does anyone know if this is doable?

TIA,

....Joe

Ghosting servers for recovery purposes is fine. But to distribute or deploy
the ghost is clearly out of the question in the case of a domain controller.
Even ghosting a server presents some rather special challenges (Dynamic
disks, Raid, encryption, network config, etc).

Look for this document title at Symantec's support site:
Cloning a Windows NT or Windows 2000 Server
