Hi
I have two identical sata hard drives. The first I use for windows,
apps data etc. The second is used to clone the first using Ghost v9
(with the "Copy MBR box" checked). Ghost runs without any errors or
problems.
I cannot get the second drive to boot up even if I swap the drives
around.

I have tried to repair the windows installation on the clonned drive by
booting from the CD but when I get to the part to select where the OS
is it says that no "OS was found on that partition"

Any ideas on this - I've been pulling my hair out over this for a
few weeks now.

Thanks

Ian.

If ghost works as XCOPY does in xp,then the problem simply lies in the
2nd hd being a SATA drive.XCOPY works great with IDE hds,but its a no
go with SATA,the utility runs as it should, files get "mirrored" "ghosted"
etc,
but it will not boot as master (C:)....Try a diffrent version of ghost,or
diffrent
software....

How many partitions on the original drive?

CLONE DRIVE TO DRIVE, don't mess with the options, the default works
always.

Do not clone a partition to the new drive, do the ENTIRE DRIVE TO DRIVE,
then remove the old drive, then replace the new drive on the same
connector as the old drive.

Ghost does NOT work like XCOPY, it's a lot different than XCOPY, and it
will do the entire hard drive.
