Ghost image on 9700 Pro

I'm thinking about purchasing a used 9700 Pro for cheap. When I
install it, I can see desktop and apps but image blocks occasionally
float around the screen. When I use another video card (Geforce 4 Ti
200) it works fine. what are the possible causes to this problem and
can I easily fix it?

Don't buy that specific card, it may be faulty, or even a modded 9500
/ Pro. Or it may be a 9700 that's been overclocked, and it can't bear
the high clockrates for the memory and chip..
