ghost 8.0 spanning - error disk full

hello
I tried to create a ghost image with ghost 8.0 on a network drive,
booting from a DOS diskette with network access. When arriving at 2Gb
it normally prompts for spanning, but if I choose OK it says "disk is
full, cannot continue".
The network disk has lots of space left: I normally spanned ghost
images on this network disk with ghost 7.5 but I'd like to switch to
the 8.0 because I found it's much faster....
any idea?

thanks

Ghost 8 is WAY past its useby date.

Use True Image instead.

Or ghost32.exe if you must continue to use ghost.

Give up on ghost.

Give up on ghost.

Or rather, give up the ghost ;)

thanks, I'm evaluating TrueImage. But, at least for curiosity, I'd like
to understand why Ghost 7.5 allows to span over the same network share
and 8.0 does not (even on another network share...).
thanks!

Presumably its just another bug/wart.

Symantec has one hell of a history of buying a decent product
and comprehensively ****ing it in the process of molesting it.

Have you tried updating it on the symantec site and seeing if that got fixed ?

no, only now I finally discovered the old ghost resources on the
Symantec site. They suggest a couple of workaround which I'll test as
soon as I can - in the meantime I used 7.5 to go on with work.
thanks!
