GetType.exe in XP

In microsofts knowledge base article #190899
It discribes how to determine the OS type in a batch file.

Does any one know which error level would be set for XP?
Can this gettype.exe file be used on XP?


I also noticed that the find.exe file for windows 2000 is different than
Windows XP version of Find.exe. What changed?

osver.exe in Admtool3.zip from Bill Stewart's page is a better
alternative:

That is why I mentioned the file name Admtool3.zip and your Web address, but I
see that I could have stated that somewhat clearer ;-)
