Hi,

I have tried to set up a User Account so that a friend
can use the pc, and log into the Internet. However, there
seems to be a problem with most of the software as it
states it cant find the software, or user cant access it!

Apart from using the User setup Account, is there
anything else I should be doing?

Thank you.

Hi,

What kind of account did you created for your friend ??
Important to know: when your friend has a "Guest" account,
he won't be able to launch programs. The guest account can
only be used to see how WinXP looks like etc but he can't
access or modify data.

Hi Marky, many thanks for your response.

I did not want to grant admin rights so i chose the
lesser. Does this mean that all User accounts have to be
set up as Administrator accounts?

If you dont want them to be able to access certain areas,
or even mess things up, but still want to grant them
access to the internet, is this not possible?

Thanks Kelly, i hope i can understand it all!

Hi,

Workaround for internet access via the Guest account:

Keep Ras Connection within Fast User Switching (Line 32)

As for Restrictions:

Restrict Users from Running Specific Applications

Use Access Control to Restrict Who Can Use Files
