When I am in the Fax Viewer Control, and I double click on a sent fax, it
always opens the Document Viewer with the image in portrait mode. Thing is
it is a landscape report. How can I get the viewer to open in landscape mode
by default?

Thanks

Start>Control Panel>Printer and Faxes>rightclick your Fax printer
listed (maybe Capture Fax BVRP)>Printing Preferences>Layout tab>
Orientation>Select Portrait or Landscape. Click Apply and OK.

OK, I did this. I go back to the properties and see that it is in fact
oriented to landscape. Yet when I open the viewer (by double clicking on a
sent fax), the image is displayed on screen in portrait. The fax is being
sent properly in landscape, I just want to be able to view the image in
landscape instead of having to rotate every single page of the fax.

Rob, I've not found an answer to your situation, for I also have to
rotate the fax page. It may depend on the app used for faxing.

I'm using the fax functionality that's in Windows XP Pro, with the snapshot
viewer. The file and actual faxing process is executed by an Access 97
application (yes, it's old, but they're wary of upgrading since an upgrade
that took place before my time and it brought down the system).

Are there any free (or close to it) 3rd party tools to handle faxing or
viewing images?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can do a Google search for free faxing programs. Many have
a 30-day free trial period. I am not that much into faxing for I prefer to
attach documents to email then the recipient can retrieve at their time and
leisure to download and do not have their PC on constantly. Best - :~)
