Getting rid of taskbar icons... Pls help!

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering: how can I get rid of icons in the
taskbar? Do i have to play with the system registry? How?

right click on it and select 'properties'.

to delete an icon, right click on the icon and delete it.

to remove either delete like the previous post or right click and choose remove from this list...

You can either hide the icons (as already has been discussed), or actually
stop the programs from launching. To do the latter, you have two options:

1) Many of these programs have an option to turn off the notification icon
app.

2) You can use MSCONFIG to stop programs from launching at startup:
