Getting rid of Shortcuts that don't work anymore

I have about 1,000 shortcut links. They all have a filtetype of .lnk.

Is there a way or utility that will tell me which links are no linked to an
app or document on my computer.]

You might be able to create a vbscript that does this check for, here is a
starting point:

Learn how to post to the correct sender, as you've just done the same thing.
 
try system mechanic.....it removes broken and invalid links, cleans system
registry and more.
 
Hey, in ref to this link cleanup question, would the little Link Check
Wizard program (I think that was the name) that came as an optional install
on the Win98 CD-ROM work on XP for this purpose? Or better not to try to
install it on XP?
