We have not been too tidy when it comes to removing Computer objects.

Is there a way to query AD to find out all the computer objects that have
not connected to the domain in the last month or what ever timeframe?

Thanks,
Scott<-

Howdy Scott!

Long time no see! Anyway, take a look at oldcmp. It is an awesome utility
that Mr. Joe Richards wrote. As the youngsters say these days, It is da
bomb!

You can find it at http://www.joeware.net in the free C++ WIN32 section.
While you are there take a look at all of his utilities. Nice collection.

This particular utility defaults to 90 days but you can change that if you
like. It is very easy to do. And, Joe has made this really idiot proof as
you must first disable the computer account objects before you can delete
them. This helps to prevent the opps, what did I just do? syndrome.

HTH,

Cary

Thanks everyone!

Great tool Joe!

And I love promoting this tool!

Use it once and you are hooked. It can also do user account objects if you
make a simply filter change....

That is okay. I live in a small southwestern Virginia town. The cost of
living is not that high here ( well, compared to Los Angeles, anyway ).

I am sure that we can work something out! Maybe a good Koelsch or Weizen
beer at the next MVP summit ( assuming that my wife let's me go! ). It has
been a long time since I have had a beer.....a very long time.

Just speak to my wife about letting me go and it's is done!

Cary

PS Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! I can hear you all say 'whipped'. That is fine.
Wouldn't have it any other way ;-)

Having just got married I know what you mean - I'm only allowed 30 minutes a
night in here now ;-)

And I also know what you mean re. not having it any other way...

Congrats, Paul!

Did not know that you are Newlyweds! Just wait until the first baby comes.
Ours did 2 1/2 months ago and he changed the world. It is the single most
awesome experience, bar none!

Thanks Carey!! Tied the knot on Aug 7th, then honeymooned in Kenya for 2
weeks - it was excellent.

I bet!!! Although I must confess, mine wont be happening for a couple of
years yet... ;-)
