Just bought an XP Pro laptop that has Novell installed. How do I get rid of
it. I have an admin account within XP but can't see any way of uninstalling
Novell.

Thanks

Jon

Much depends on what it is - client services for netware, or Novell's
software? I've never seen a brand-new XP laptop come with *anything* Novell
or Netware on it. If you've bought a used laptop, the first thing you ought
to do is completely flatten & re-install it, do not pass go, do not collect
$200.

Thanks, its a known safe laptop and I was advised to remove Novell as the
client from the LAN and this seems to have sorted it.

OK. I'd still say flatten & reinstall, though. It's not that it's not
"safe" - it's that you never know what's been set up on it, and that's
especially true if it was part of a business network. It would be a real
shame to start using/customizing it to find some weird shard of group
policy, etc., lurking in there. I wouldn't dream of using a used laptop I
hadn't rebuilt.

Hi
to remove the novell client, go to your Network connections, Local Area
connection properties, you should have listed there Novell Client.
Just click uninstall.
Hope it helps
