Getting Rid of Failed Printer Installation messages in Event Log

I have no printers configured on my Windows 2000 server and none physically
attached. However, I think this server is sensing printers on other
machines in the network and attempting to install drivers for these
printers. My event log is clogged up with these messages.

How can I prevent TermServices from attempting these printer installs or
simply stop posting to my event log?

It might help if you copy the event message here, as it is we have an
idea of the problem but without the event id and source it a bit like
poking around in the dark.

Is this a dedicated TS box, or is it another server to which you/other
admins connect to do remote administration?

If you don't need printer redirection, you can disable it outright on this
server. Terminal Services Configuration, Connections, properties of RDP-TCP.
Client settings tab, untick "windows printer mapping" and whatever else you
want.

Hello Lanwench and John!

Thanks for replying.

We do RDO into this server for administration. I checked the TS settings
and evertthing was UNchecked except audio.

John -- I've always been frustrated by the fact that if you try to copy a
message from the event log (highlight, right click) you get a "what's this"
tooltip instead of the usual popup menu for copy. How on earth can you copy
an event log message -- I'd love to know (other than retyping it by hand)!!

Click on the little clipboard thingy thing and you will be able to
paste the complete event information to your message.

Sorry for the html, but it's the easiest way for me to explain this.

I misspoke (miswrote?) ...you should tick the boxes for the features you
want to *disable* - so you can disable printer redirection.
