Getting rid of "double boot"

My Win 2000 setup crashed, badly, so I reinstalled it on the same
computer on a different hard drive.

Now, when I boot up, I get a "choice" of my old Win 2000 setup and the
new Win 2000 setup. The old Win 2000 setup does not work. Yet the
computer "defaults" to that dead setup, and unless I choose the new
setup manually, the computer goes into an endless reboot loop.

What do I need to do to get rid of the old Win 2000 "choice" on the boot
up screen?

Thanks!

Delete the option from boot.ini located in the root of the system partition
or post the contents of the file for direction. Explorer|Tools|Folder
Options|View, then radio button for "Show hidden files and folders", then
uncheck the box for "Hide protected operating system files" to locate the
files in the system partition.
