Seems whenever I open MSN Explorer it changes the
settings in Internet Explorer so that instead of opening
to my.msn.com it opens to dellnet.my.msn. I changed it
before in the registry, but I forget how to do this. I
hate the msn by dellnet thing and now I have Dell ads at
the top of the page all the time. Can anyone tell me how
to get rid of this? Thank you.

Hi,

To remove the dell branding, simply follow the instructions contained here:

http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm#Branding

Following the instructions contained in the above link should clear the default
home URL, search engine settings, window title, and other items from Dell
branding.

Best regards,

Altrus

I just went trhough this with a Dell Support person. It appears they install some redirection Cookies on the computer. If deleting cookies through IE does not fix the problem, you may need to delete them manually. To do this, search on your machine for 'dellnet' (without quotes). One should be a .txt file in a Cookies folder. In my case, it was in:

C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\Low

(I'm using Windows 7; <Name> is my username). Close IE and use Windows Explorer to navigate to this folder and delete all files that have .msn in them. You will lose any auto login information, but that can be re-saved once you log in again.
