It was suggested by a tech support person that I create a new user profile.
I did so, and now don't need it. But I can't get rid of it. I followed the
directions in help.
But when I restart the computer it still gives me the choice of one of two
users. How do I get rid of it completely?

Thanks

Alex

From command prompt try this:

net user USERNAME /delete

where USERNAME is the name of the user profile to want to get rid of.

Let us know if this helped. You need to be an administrator (or user
with administrator rights) to delete a user.

You delete the profile while logged into another Administrator-level
account, and tell it to delete the files.

Thanks for your reply Patrick,

I already did that several times. It did seem to delete the files and when I
check my profiles under Advanced in Systems, the newer profile is gone.
But when I start the computer, or even when it goes idle, it asks me to
choose users.

In control panel-- users--click on user then on left side --learn how to
delete account.

Thanks Anonymous, that worked well.
I don't know why they don't put that solution under "help" instead of the
other one.
