I just upgraded from IE version 5 to version 6. Now, only
red "x"s appear where there used to be images. Help please!

Thanks.

Uh oh, I'm running AdSubtract Pro both at home and work. Is there a fix?

I'm a little confused by the contradictions here:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283807 says "8. On the View menu, point
to Encoding. If a check does not appear next to Auto-Select, click
Auto-Select." But http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#jpg_gif says
"It has recently been noted that if IE is set to 'auto-select' at view,
encoding that some sites will not load graphics. Set your system to western
european (windows)." Which is more current/correct?

Meanwhile, I'll check AdSubtract's support page.

Thanks,
Mike

I think that the answer for AdSubtract is to uninstall it.

AutoSelect.
Some machines work better with it checked and some with it unchecked. I've
always had it unchecked and set to Western (ISO) and I've never had a red-X
problem.
