I'm the only person that uses this pc and for some reason, it now wants me
to choose the profile to enter windows. There's only one profile, of course.

Is there a way to stop this. I just want it to load windows and be done
with it.
Thanks for any suggestions. Diana

Hi Diana,

My guess is that you recently installed the .net framework. It creates an
additional hidden user account, and this is why the system now pauses at the
logon screen. It's easy to fix. Click start/run, type "control
userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and click ok. In the user list, click
on the user that you want to be the default. Uncheck the box requiring a
username and password, click apply/ok and follow the prompts to set up a
default logon.

Rick,
You were right on the money! I had recently installed .net framework!
I followed your instructions and it's as it was ... loading without having
to select my profile. .
Thanks for the reply posting.
Appreciated.
