Getting past windows password for new personnel

I am brain dead. Customer had employee leave company
changing windows 2000 Professional with a User Name and
Password. What is the best fix to get into windows to
program and delete password?

Is this computer part of a domain? If yes, then domain administrator will be
able to logon to this PC and change local admin password.
