Has anybody discovered how to transfer XP Pro OE mailboxes and address books
to Vista Ultimate 64. The import mechanism does not help. It does not have a
browse that lets you point to where the files are and amazingly, cant see
them itself.

I have 0.5GB of mail and 10 years of contacts that I want to import. Tried
OEX for $25 but that didnt work either.

Suggestions, please?

OEX isn't a toll for importing or exporting.

Try importing from the same machine and not the old computer.

Create a folder on the 64 machine and copy the DBX files (all of them and do
include the Folders.dbx file, it is required).

Address book, copy the WAB file to the 64 machine.

Export the accounts to an aif or iaf or whichever it is today and import
that into the accounts.

OEX does have importing features. One can point to a directory of eml files
or a directory of dbx files and then import from there with a single button
click, even across a network.

I think there are some problems with the x64 system and OEX though that I
haven't resolved due to the fact that I don't have an x64 system running.

Hi Peter,

If the File | Import | Messages doesn't work (following the steps exactly as
in www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#oe2wm), and if OEX isn't working on it, then
the only recourse is to get an extraction program such as DBXtract or
DBXpress (both of which do work in x64 systems) to extract the messages as
eml files and then those can be dragged into WinMail folders.

I'm wrong on that one then.
