Getting list of services from another client

We're using GPMC on our Win2003 DC:s to configure GPO:s.
We want to enforce settings on Systems Services on our
clients. The problem is that some of the services that
run on our clients, doesn't run on our DC:s and therefore
doesn't show up in the list of System Services on the GPO
(we configure the GPO on the DC:s). I've seen that for
example Quest FastLane ActiveRoles can get a list of
services from a machine remotly so you can configure the
GPO for them.

Can I do this without installting the services on the DC
or open the GPO on the client itself using our
configuration in a easy way and preferrably without the
need to edit/create and .ADM-file manually.

GPMC will only show you local installed services so why
don't you just install GPMC on one on the client PC's and
modify the group policy on the domain from there. You
don't have to make changes to Group policy directly at
the DC, you can make the changes remotely from the
client. If you make the change from the client the
clients services will appear. I find that quite bizarre
but it works.

Thanks!

That was my thought first aswell, but the problem is that
I can't get the GPMC to work on out Windows XP boxes.
I've done everything: Installed SP1, installed .NET
Framework 1.1 but still it complains that I don't have
QFE Q326469 fix installed - but I can't find that fix on
the web :(. Any ideas? I was thinking it might be because
we're using Swedish Windows XP?
