I keep getting what my friends tell me are jokes in the email they got the
paperclip on them so I am supposed to click on em and then there is
something printed in blue and its underlined, I am told this is Hypertext
and should give me the joke, but when I click or doble click on it all it
does is sit there
My friends told me something is wrong it should open Internet explorer and
go to a web page or something. please tell me what I got to do to fix this!

I very rarely click links in emails - even when they're from friends that I
know. Jokes are great "magnets" to attract visitors to a malicious website.
I'm not saying that your friends would send you bad links - they may have
been fooled too.

If you're sure the site is safe, are you using Outlook Express for mail?
You should be able to fix broken hyperlinks in OE using one of the tips
found here:
http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#hyperlinks

If no luck, repost this question in the Outlook Express Newsgroup (this
group is for questions about the Accessibility Options in Windows):
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/?pr=956

And/or visit the Outlook Express Support pages here:
http://support.microsoft.com/oex

This will fix that problem about 90% of the time: Start/All
Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt/at the blinking cursor, type: "regsvr32
urlmon.dll" [less the quotation], then press the keyboard "Enter" key. After
the message that the registration action succeeded, try clicking your link
in Outlook Express again. If not successful, go to Internet
Explorer/Internet Options/find and click "Reset Web Settings"; then try
again.
