getting drivers from the internet

My computer is running Windows vista and I tried to download a driver for my
printer from the internet; however when the driver gets about 2-3 percent
done it always stops, the file still appears to be downloading, but the
percent downloaded doesn't change along with the number of kbs. The program
is listed as running in the task manager, and I don't know what to do.
