Getting data from Excel into Outlook Contact file

I have been struggling with getting my Excel data
imported into my Outlook Contact file. I tried to use
the wizard, but the error message said something
about "defining ranges". I have no idea what this means.

Can anyone help me do this step by step?

In the worksheet, select the data you want to import. Choose Insert | Name |
Define, and give the selected range a name. Save the spreadsheet. Now try
the import wizard again.
