Hi all,

I need to grab the IP address of a computer, the names and IP
addresses of any network printers set up on it and the Dell Service
Tag and shoot that info off to a printer.

I had no problem grabbing the IP and I'm close to getting the printer
names and IPs but I have no idea how to get the Dell Service Tag
number out of the BIOS. Any ideas?

TIA,
RD

You probably need to ask this question in a Dell group. If Dell
exposes its service tag numbers through a standard programming
interface of some sort (which is entirely possible), you can then come
back here with that information and we may be able to help you talk to
the interface from Access. I don't think that there is any way of
reading the contents of a BIOS memory location from Access.

I'm not! _The_ _OP_ is presumably involved in some sort of hardware
audit function.

Why specifically are you looking for the information?
